My Morning in America — By: Kathryn Jean Lopez

Earlier this morning I joined Seth Leibsohn in filling in for Bill Bennett on his radio show (as if anyone — or two — can actually fill-in for Bill — there’s too much personality and authority and credibility and experience and excellent taste in music to match). Callers seemed almost universally disappointed in the president last night, even if they were not surprised. The (un)presidential condescension at the heart of the frustration. We began the show, by the way, by playing “You’re so vain.” And I broke ground on the show by talking about Tweeting — Bill and producer Seth are just not there yet (probably good for their mental health and productivity) — with James Pethokoukis and Rick Santorum , since the three of us all follow one another’s tweets. If you don’t get the show on your local radio or have Sirius, you can follow online by subscription .
