Faux Blue Dog Democrat Blanche Lincoln in tough fight for her Senate seat over a year before the election

Arkansans spoke and Blanche Lincoln didn’t listen.
In the weeks leading up to Lincoln voting for Harry Reid’s health care bill, the polls and feedback her offices received clearly told her that the people of Arkansas did not want here voting yes to Harry Reid’s health care bill.
A Rasmussen poll showed that 56% of Arkansas voters strongly opposed the Congressional health plan, while only 18% strongly favored it (65% at least somewhat opposed it and 32% somewhat for it). Further, 74% believed the bill would raise the deficit and 83% believed it would result in higher taxes.
Several polls prior to passage of the health care bill in the Senate had shown that voters who stated they planned to vote for Lincoln in November, said they would not vote for her if she voted for the Senate bill, which in the end she did.
Arkansans told their elected representative what they wanted, and Lincoln responded by going against the wishes of the vast majority of her constituents and simply voting along party lines. Last week we wrote about how when push comes to shove moderate Democrats vote along party lines, rather than based on what their constituents want.
In a state that is very conservative and votes for Republican Presidential candidates, but is dominated by Democratic candidates in state and local elections, seven Republicans have already announced they will be running against Lincoln for her Senate seat. Former state Senator Jim Holt is expected to soon make it eight Republicans.
Readers have reported that there are already billboards and radio commercials calling for Lincoln to be replaced in November, and the Republican contenders are getting a lot of air time on Arkansas talk radio stations. They say that callers into those radio programs are very angry at what they see as a betrayal by Blanche Lincoln.
As campaigning for the 2010 elections ramp up, it will be interesting to see if other faux Blue Dog Democrats from states that vote Republican for President, but Democrat for state, local and US Congress face similar stiff challenges from Republican opponents.
You failed to mention the Green Beret who is also in the race running as an Independent. Trevor Drown. http://www.trevordrown.com
Thanks for the info.
Old Hank has only 50% of the info posted above.. must be Jack Daniels and he were chatting once again. Trevor Drown, Green Beret/Afghan Veteran also has another site that’s very interactive giving any one the opportunity to field questions. He may not answer instantaneously due to his calendar of commitments, but his potential future constituents will receive a reply now and after he is elected. This site will be an open door to Trevor Drowns Senatorial Office. Granted, there ARE 8 Republicans running, but why 8? Meet the new boss same as the old boss? maybe? I know why Trevor is running for the Senate, and it deals with his lifes focus. That can be summed up as Duty, Honor, Perserverance, his Promise to uphold the Constitution, one that did not end when he left the Green beret’s. We know what Blance Lincolns resume should state, I sold out my constituents. I know what the Republicans resume might state, all 8 ( and I was a life LONG republican ), Self serving, trying to resurrect a party that sold out it’s conservative base. This last presidential election was the kicker.. when they fielded John McCain ( http://eaglesnest2.ning.com ) a man they knew didn’t stand a snow balls chance of winning. We are being setup by both paries it appears as they think “We Da People” yes’um we be da dumb ones.. they want to disarm us..next will be reeducation, then from freedom loving individuals we will be transformed into drones of the state.
There is one man running who I could bet every round of ammo I own, will not sell you down the tubes, or send you down and Arkansas river without a paddle.. that’s Afghan Vet Trevor Drown. He’s not running on the fact he did serve, like some.. thats his supporters lifting his service up as he is a “quiet professional” who is a small business owner as well as haveing worked as a grunt at UPS for
many years. Make the trip, and ASK those questions.. http://trevordrown.ning.com Video Conferencing will be active at the site this year and you’ll be able to do a face to face with Trevor as you ask.
God Bless, Make the Trip and support Trevor for Senator in the Great State of Arkansas. He doesn’t have the money machine the others have behind them, it’s truely grass roots, a walk our founding fathers knew all to well befor lobbyists took over the playing field.
boy I wish I could edit the typo’s in that send.. it may be best if you don’t publish
If you send me/post one with the typos fixed, I will replace the original one with the fixed one. I understand the typos. I have been on the road the last week, and have been posting with little time to proof, so have let some doozies slip through.
